Many shortcomings in the healthcare landscape of most sub-Saharan countries are easily identifiable. Sub-optimal resource utilization reciprocally exacerbates resource limitation. Nigeria is Africa’s most populous country and presents numerous healthcare challenges and learning opportunities.

Obala Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to improve access to and delivery of healthcare primarily in Nigeria via developing innovative, cost-effective interventions to sustainably increase and optimize current health resources.

Our approach

Our principal approach is to foster stakeholder partnerships that sustain focus on improving health care access and optimizing use of current resources.

We achieve this via a multi-step process: 

             - morbidity data informs focused analysis of the status quo care delivery process

             - this allows identification of process gaps and limiting factors

             - and promotes identification of optimal approaches to address the limitations
